Reetta Vauhkonen, Medical Information Specialist, Advisory Services
What do you do at Oriola?
I work as a Medical Information Specialist and part of the Medical Information and Patient support team in Oriola’s Advisory Services.
Our team provides information on pharmaceutical products to both healthcare professionals and consumers in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltics. We also manage patient support services and handle social media moderation on behalf of our clients.

Describe your role – what does it mean?
My daily work involves responding to questions from healthcare professionals and consumers, usually by phone or email. We support several pharmaceutical companies, so the topics vary depending on the product and the client.
I also help moderate customer social media channels, contact patients participating in support programmes, and act as a contact person between Oriola and some of our customers. In addition, I support our Advisory Services team with various marketing-related tasks. The work is primarily done remotely and it’s a versatile role with lots of variation.
What I enjoy most is the variety – no two days are the same – and getting to work with such great colleagues. Even though we work remotely, we’ve built a strong team spirit.
What’s your background – educational and professional?
I’m a trained pharmacist with broad experience of working in the pharmacy business before joining Oriola. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Beauty and Cosmetics from Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland, which included marketing studies that are really useful in my current role.
And finally, when you’re not working, what do you like to do?
In my free time, I enjoy walking in the forest with my dogs and hunting for second-hand treasures at flea markets.
