Madeleine Sabel, Upstream Account Coordinator, Sales team

What do you do at Oriola?

I work as an Upstream Account Coordinator in the Sales team at Oriola in Mölnlycke, Sweden.

Our team serves as the main point of contact for pharmaceutical company customers. We work closely with both customers, Key account managers and other internal functions to ensure smooth operations, coordinate activities and provide support whenever challenges arise.

We help our customers navigate everything from day-to-day questions to more complex situations, always with the aim of ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Describe your role - what does it mean?

As an Upstream Account Coordinator, no two days are the same. A typical day can include meetings with customers, coordinating product recalls, adjusting stock balances, arranging urgent deliveries, supporting product releases or making sure products reach the right destination at the right time. My role is to coordinate information, solve problems and keep our customers informed along the way.

We often deal with unexpected situations and changing priorities, which means being structured, flexible and solution-oriented is essential. One thing I've learned is that there is almost always a way forward when people work together and focus on finding solutions.

The best part of my job is definitely the team I work with. My colleagues are amazing, and I really value being part of a team where everyone contributes with their knowledge and experience.

What's your background – educational and professional?

My career in service began in 1999 at Harrods' in London. Since then, I have built a solid background in customer service and people-focused roles. Before joining Oriola, I spent 12 years working as a retail store manager for different companies.
I joined Oriola in 2028 as a Customer Service Coordinator. Later, I took on the role of Customer Service Instructor, helping train new colleagues and developing new ways of working for the department. For the past three years, I have worked as an Upstream Account Coordinator.

One achievement I am particularly proud of is when a colleague and I took on the instructor role and together created training materials and new working methods for the department. It was a rewarding experience that allowed us to make a lasting contribution to the team.

And finally, when you're not working, what do you like to do?

When I'm not driving between football practices and matches, I enjoy exercising whenever I get the chance. Heavy squats are a particular favourite.

When I want to completely unwind, I turn to baking. It's a hobby that my family and colleagues seem to appreciate just as much as I do, so it's a true win-win situation.
